Hallo,
ich bin Katrin und diesen Blog werde ich wohl dazu nutzen, um mein Leben als Au Pair in den USA zu beschreiben.

Ich komme aus einem kleinen Dorf direkt an der deutschen Grenze zu Holland, in der Nähe von Mönchengladbach.
In meiner Freizeit lese ich sehr gerne und bastele, zudem bin ich Mitglied einer Tanzgruppe und einer ehrenamtlichen Organisation. Meine ehrenamtliche Arbeit bestand hauptsächlich darin, dass ich seit April 2016 in der Grundschule in meinem Heimatort geholfen habe. Dabei war ich hauptsächlich in einer Klasse und half dort beim Unterricht und der Eins-zu-eins-Betreuung, doch ich habe auch schon ehrenamtlich Nachhhilfe gegeben.
Desweiteren helfe ich auch seit über drei Jahren beim Kinderturnen in meinem Sportverein und seitdem ich (dem Abi sei Dank) keine Schule mehr habe, auch beim Mutter-Kind-Turnen.

Ich hoffe, mit diesem Blog meine Familie und Freunde in Deutschland auf dem Laufenden halten zu können und vielleicht auch ein paar weiteren Au Pair Interessenten einen Einblick geben zu können.

Ich werde in Chesapeake, Virginia leben, mit meinem tollen Hostdad und seinen fünf Kinden, drei Jungen (15, 13, 10) und zwei Mädchen (10, 8). Auf Gründen der Privatsphäre werde ich keine Fotos von der Familie hochladen.

Hello,
my name is Katrin and I will use this blog to talk about my life as an au pair in the USA.

I come from a small village near the german border to Holland (Netherlands), it is near Moenchengladbach.
In my freetime I like to read and do crafts; I am also a member of a local dancing group and a vlunteer organisation. My voluntary work included (as a main part) helping in our local elementary school since April 2016. I mainly helped in the first grade with the lessons and the one-to-one-care, but I also gave voluntary tutoring.
Furthermore I also help at the kids gym in my local sports club since more than three years now, and since I do not have to go to school anymore (thanks to my Abitur), also at the mother-child-gym.

I hope that with this blog I can keep my family and friends in Germany updated and maybe also give some people that are interested in a year as an au pair a view of how things might be.

I will live in Chesapeake, Virginia, with a lovely hostdad and five children: three boys (15, 13, 10) and two girls (10, 8). Due to privacy I won't upload any photos of the family.
